Jack Jack’s Big Wabbit Hunt
Sorry for the quality of pictures — I try to be very good and only post nice photos of high quality, well, as high of quality as I can get. But this morning something laughable (to say the least) was happening outside my windows and I didn’t want to open a door to get a good shot because I knew I would disrupt the goings-on.
Out in the pasture was a show-down at high…. 9:00 am. Jack, my indoor cat turned outdoor-for-a-few-hours-a-day-cat decided to hunt a wascally wabbit and though in this picture the “bubby” (as Annie calls them) looks quite a bit larger than Jack but that rabbit only has a slight height advantage… well, and the racing legs help too but Jack has weight behind him being that he is around 18lbs.
The Villain
The funny thing about this whole “idea” is that the rabbit was just as curious of Jack as Jack was curious of the rabbit – and had Big Intentions on killing himself his own lunch (this is a cat who only eats kibble, even if given the chance of eating meat.)
The Sleek Deputy
Now, you gotta wonder if Jack could really concentrate on the task at hand with his belly dragging across the tickling grass like that.
Back and forth the rabbit went in front of Jack while Jack thought he was well hidden in the grass, readying himself for a big pounce.
What you will see next is almost horrifying — don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Bubby got away…
Regardless, I’m proud of my little house-frow. What a brave hunter he is!
Hmmm… Jack is hunting a… Jack Rabbit!

Too cute! You have to give Jack credit for trying!
I came here via I Hear Faces (which your entries are great BTW) but I just love the progression on this post! I find it hilarious that Jack is chasing a Jack rabbit!!
Great pictures….I imagine that big eared hare was pretty fast! Funny how strong a cat’s instincts are!
I remember being quite proud when my house bound Barney cat caught a bird! go Jack!
