Just have to scream it from the roof tops!
I’ve made it on to The Pioneer Woman!
She had recently asked for her readers to submit their black and white photos and I submitted a handful to her Flickr group. The one above got picked! I’m tickled… to say the least. Thank you to my friend Rachelle for pointing it out. I had forgotten in all the busy-ness to go check it out.

Thank you Linda!
Congratulations, Joan! That is so awesome! Before you know it, your husband is going to be able to quit his day job! And to think I’m able to say, “I knew her (okay, I met her once) before she became famous.”
I don’t know about that Michelle… but I am glad I met you once too.
Hopefully again this coming June!
Congratulations & very well done, the photograph is stunning, but then again all your pictures are
Thanks Townie!
That is so awesome. I saw it on there just now and thought, is that the REAL mud ranch, lol. Yes it is
I’m so glad for you, it’s a gorgeous pic!
LOL on the “real” Mud Ranch.
Thanks Mikey!!
Oh my goodness – that is so AWESOME!!! Congratulations and good job as always
Thanks Shannon!
whooooo! joan this is an amazing conversion. i love the intensity of the shot. is this with the big girl cam? im a canon girl, but would love to hear all about your new cam
Hey Hannah – yes that’s with the big girl cam.
It’s a Nikon D300 which is a semi-pro cam put out by Nikon. If there’s two numbers such as D50 it’s for family types… If it’s 3 numbers such as D300 it’s semi-pro, and if it’s one number such as D3 it is pro.
I love all the buttons that are right at the back of the camera instead of buried in menus such as exposure control and focus.
beautiful! what kind of horse is this?
Hey Kate – she’s a Haflinger. Quite an interesting breed with a cool history… look them up on Wikipedia sometime. Oh, and they’re known to be super sweet and gentle. So far all the ones I’ve met really are.
I thought so! There is a horse named Peaches that Lily likes to ride…sweet, sweet, sweet. I want to take her home. It really is a great pic and I can’t believe it made it on to Pioneer Woman…how cool is that????
Congrats, it’s a stunning picture!!!!
I love the snow on your blog, where did you get the code for it??
Hey PG – The snow is a wordpress.com perk. We have a button “behind the scenes” on our dashboard that we can push to turn it on… You may be able to get code for it over at wordpress.org. I’d do a search and see if they let that kind of stuff out.
I saw you! Of course you got on PW. Your photography is fabulous!
Wow, thanks Sara!
